Worbarrow Bay stitched picture
This stitched picture is inspired by the beautiful Purbeck coastline, part of the Jurassic Coast. The picture is made using hand dyed fabrics, silks, embroidery threads and beads. The variety of fabrics together with the beads mean that the picture looks different in different lights. Based on the old idea of tapestries which usually had metallic threads interwoven with wool and which provided interest when rooms were just lit by candles and firelight.
